I am a hands-on-keyboard, close-to-the-metal, head-in-the-cloud engineer with over a decade of experience. I strongly believe in lifelong learning and upskilling; to that end, I actively maintain a growing technical library of guides covering Linux, Python, and cloud architecture. In my homelab, I experiment with different Linux distributions, containerized workflows, and local AI deployments using Open WebUI to stay ahead of the curve.
My experience with Java, Vue.js, and Nuxt.js demonstrates my proficiency in developing and deploying web applications. My expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code highlights my ability to automate infrastructure provisioning and management. Proficiency in cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and Linode, coupled with advanced skills in Linux, PowerShell, and Python, underscores my versatility across platforms. I focus on leveraging technology to streamline development, deployment, and operational processes.
I run non-critical projects like PostgreSQL, Plex, or Minikube on my home Linux server.
I manage infrastructure on AWS, including Lambda Functions, API Gateways, DynamoDB, and VPCs.
I use Terraform to deploy AWS infrastructure, storing state in S3 and DynamoDB. Many stacks include cross-account deployments via pipelines.
This website was developed using Vue.js and Nuxt.js. Additional projects are hosted on Vercel Playground.
I use Git for version control across GitHub, AWS CodeCommit, and GitLab, leveraging CI/CD pipelines like GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
I grew up in Waldbüttelbrunn, Germany, and earned my Abitur at Deutschhaus Gymnasium in Würzburg in 2006. After military service, I studied technical physics at Technische Universität Ilmenau, graduating in 2011. While working at Siemens in Berlin, I began a master's in electrical engineering at FernUniversität Hagen. In 2014 I relocated to the United States and moved into software engineering in Philadelphia, where I've built my career ever since growing my passion for engineering with Linux and cloud services.
